NDSU is seeking student-centered scholarship funds to remove barriers to enrollment and increase access to the Bison community. The landscape of higher education is increasingly competitive, and without increasing its pool of flexible scholarship funds, NDSU risks losing talented students to institutions that can meet their financial needs more immediately and effectively.

Scholarships fund futures

Scholarships open the door to an NDSU education, but their impact doesn’t stop at access. Your gift will empower students to make the best decisions for their education, family, and future career — beginning the day they arrive on campus.

With four years to make the most of their academic journey, NDSU students balance rigorous coursework with part-time jobs, internships, research, leadership roles, and service to the community. Scholarships don’t remove the need for work — they give students the freedom to work with purpose.

With the gift of a scholarship, you can help NDSU students make decisions for their future success, not their immediate survival. This means equipping talented, driven students with financial stability to:

  • Feel fully present and immersed in their education, coursework, and studies

MAKING YOUR IMPACT

There are many ways to make an impact on NDSU students. See an overview of giving opportunities below.

Immediate Support

Establishing your own named, expendable scholarship begins with a gift of $5,000 or a pledged gift of $1,000 per year for five years. Since an expendable scholarship is not endowed, your entire gift is immediately available to support NDSU students.

Ongoing Support

Establishing your own named, endowed scholarship begins with a gift of $25,000 or a pledged gift of $5,000 per year for five years. An endowed scholarship becomes a permanent investment that creates ongoing funding for generations. A percentage of the gift is awarded and provides sustainable support to NDSU students over time.

Collective Power

Each and every gift makes an impact. If you are not ready to establish your own scholarship but want to support NDSU students, you can make a gift of any size to an existing scholarship fund. The Opportunity and Excellence Scholarship has been designated as NDSU’s #1 priority scholarship fund. Remember, “the strength of the Herd is the Bison, and the strength of the Bison is the Herd.”
