Meet the 2023 award recipients

Each year, the NDSU Foundation recognizes the accomplishments of award honorees and recognition society donors at Evening of Distinction, presented by SEI.

The 2023 NDSU Foundation Award Honorees include a world-renowned researcher and potato pathologist; a married couple with philanthropic passions for NDSU agriculture, education, and football; the nation's leading farmer-owned cooperative and its philanthropic arm; a College of Engineering alumnus whose leadership helped grow NDSU's endowment; a leader in the field of natural resources management in North Dakota and Washington, D.C.; and a pathogen researcher on the front lines of biosafety for the past 20 years.

Philanthropy in action
Delivering patient-centered care in every corner of the state

NDSU is preparing the next generation of health care leaders in Aldevron Tower, an entirely privately funded teaching and research facility. Aldevron Tower's collaborative, hands-on learning environment prioritizes team-based, patient-centered care.

"Everything we do from our teaching to serving our profession, we try to embed NDSU's land-grant mission in. What can make our state better? How can we better the lives of our patients and alumni who are practicing in the state?" Elizabeth Skoy '05, '07, associate professor of pharmacy and director of the Center for Collaboration and Advancement in Pharmacy (CAP), said.

NDSU graduates are highly sought by employers

The newly released 2022 Career Outcomes report shows that recent NDSU graduates have seen a 93% success rate; 72% of survey respondents are entering employment while another 21% are continuing education.

"This information is used to make sure NDSU is meeting workforce needs of employers in our state and our region by providing career-ready individuals upon graduation," NDSU President Dave Cook said. "The quality of education a student receives is a good indicator of the quality of employee they will become when entering the workforce. NDSU educates future leaders to provide the state, region, nation, and world with a strong workforce that will create solutions to shape a better world."
